Bayley on Commentary

Before WrestleMania’s highly-anticipated SmackDown Women’s Championship Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match, Tamina, Lacey Evans and Naomi battled it out in a hard-fought Triple Threat Match.

Sasha Banks suddenly rose from the announce table to attack Lacey Evans, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley did the same to Naomi, allowing Tamina to reign supreme over The Glow with a vicious superkick. Then, the dominant Superstar put the exclamation point on her performance by superkicking Bayley and delivering a second Samoan drop to Banks.

Friday 10th April

Tamina made a play for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship

Tamina wants a one-on-one opportunity for the SmackDown Women’s Title… but Bayley wasn’t so quick to give in to her demands.

Bayley & Sasha Banks celebrated the self-proclaimed role model’s title defense at WrestleMania and bashed the “sheep” that continue to say their friendship is doomed. Tamina crashed the party though, and demanded a singles match with the title on the line. Bayley didn’t flat out refuse, but she added a contingency: Tamina will receive a SmackDown Women’s Title opportunity… if she could defeat Banks next week.

Tamina accepted and then wondered aloud if Bayley had just thrown her best friend under the bus… a notion that was not totally dispelled by Sasha’s reaction.

A well-timed intervention from Lacey Evans helped Tamina overcome Sasha Banks and earn a SmackDown Women’s Championship opportunity against Bayley.

Bayley ringside for Sasha vs Lacey

After Bayley got involved in the proceedings, Sasha Banks appeared to have the match sealed with a long roll-up on Lacey Evans, but the distracted referee missed the maneuver. The Boss snapped back at the SmackDown Women’s Champion to stay out of her clash, but The Sassy Southern Belle pounced on the opportunity to deliver a Woman’s Right for the 1-2-3.
